Hello everyone, I would tell a new student to make sure they know all about citations and quoting. You can so easily plagiarize, even when you don't mean to.
I'm going to write about some personal stuff, I think it will help to put it in writing. My Mom died Saturday. Even though we all knew it could come at any time, she was 83, and she had two aneurysms in her chest, it doesn't seem to help. I'm glad I have a week between semesters, and I will probably not do well on the final exam because I am having trouble concentrating. It is so difficult to be taking the classes and then life throws you a problem that you must deal with. I will do my best, it's all I can do. Hopefully I will not drop my grade point average too much. I have enjoyed talking to all you students and Professor Erin. Good luck to everyone, maybe some of us will talk again in another class. Big Relief
Hi fellow classmates, I feel a big relief to have most of the work finished for my two classes. I feel accomplished in writing class, I've learned so much and I am a better writer for it. Having the two papers due at the same time was a little nerve racking. But I worked hard and managed to finish both papers on time. I enjoy learning new information, and I like writing. Although, it is hard work to make sure I catch all errors and finish with a good paper. We have one more week in this semester, it seems to go by fast. I'm ready to keep going and finish my degree. I was disappointed with peer reviews
I was disappointed with the peer reviews, because no one read mine so I didn't get any kind of help.
I was looking forward to some suggestions. That is in the past so I will not think about it again.
I plan on blogging after the class is over. I tried it once before and I would like to have a medium where I can say my views. I like to write, that doesn't mean that I'm a good writer right now but I plan on learning more and I will keep on trying. I have a book, on writing by Stephen King, he gives some good tips. Some day I will write a book, this is my plan and I will have time later in my life. I am already jotting down notes and I will continue until I have a book to write.
I would like to voice a few words on children bullying. There was an incident here in Michigan just recently, some of you may have heard of it. My Grandchildren go to the school system that it happened in. We have been talking to them every day because it has affected them greatly. It is disrupting the junior high and high school age children. The media has been at the schools every day in the last two weeks. A few days ago the media was not the local stations that have been there, the world news media was there. A 18 year old boy and a 14 year old girl had consentual sex, then the relationship ended. Now the girl's mother found a text message from the girl to the boy, when she confronted her daughter, she told the mother that he had raped her. This seems now to be a lie because the mother had the boy arrested for rape and went to the local media when the boy was bonded out and went back to school. At school the girl was being bullied because the boy was well know and popular. No one would talk to her and she was pushed and it was even reported that some one threw feces at her. I believe the boy was the adult in the situation and he was wrong. So mom has media coverage every day and then they made the girl appear on camera to tell her side of the story. The next day the girl committed suicide. Now the boy may not be prosecuted because the police say there is no witness to testify against him. Her mother was as wrong as the boy, to put her on local TV. I don't know what should be done now but I know the girl thought every one was against her, she didn't have a friend on her side. The kids at school were very cruel to her. We must put a stop to this kind of thing now!

Peer Reviews
I feel great about peer reviews. I need all the help I can get. There may be something I've over looked, and another student may catch it and help me. I will take any and all suggestions I can find. I think we all learn from other people reading our papers. We are too close to our own essays to see small mistakes. The only experience I've had with peer reviews is in writing I, and I believe it was helpful. All the students here at Kaplan are very nice and I respect their opinions. So I'm waiting for mine to be read by someone, I'd like to hear what she/he has to say.
